Laminar flow hood / cleanroom ceiling

Turbulent mixed air or laminar flow

Depending on the required cleanroom class, cleanroom ceilings are technically equipped differently. The number of filter fan units located on the cleanroom ceiling or the selected number of motors and power for closed pressure chambers ultimately determines the type of clean air supply or flow, air volumes and, as a result, air exchange rates and room pressures.

In some process environments, it is not possible to install cleanroom walls. In such cases, cleanroom ceilings or flow hoods are installed above individual systems or in entire room sections, whereby the overall room height or installation height of the ceiling elements has a significant influence on efficiency. To improve this, the downflow is often channelled and optimized using strip curtains.
