Floor covering

The right cleanroom flooring

Depending on the nature and suitability of the existing floor covering at the installation site, it may be sufficient to install a cleanroom or cleanroom without laying an additional floor covering. Sealed, coated surfaces such as epoxy resin floors may be suitable. Of course, the age and maintenance condition of the existing floor covering is also decisive for a final answer to this question.

If this is not suitable, high-quality PVC, natural rubber or linoleum flooring with optional all-round coving [-> optimized cleaning] is generally used.

A cleanroom floor is a smooth and seamlessly welded covering. Its high abrasion resistance is particularly important. The selected flooring must therefore have a high degree of hardness and mechanical/chemical resistance. It must be ensured that the existing floor covering or the floor covering to be laid is impermeable to liquids and can be cleaned abrasively. Other important properties include sufficient slip resistance, color fastness, UV and temperature resistance and, if required, electrical conductivity (ESD).
